2012 USA – Miami
30th January 2012
Rather than flying home from Orlando where the holiday started, we thought we would spend a couple of days in Miami and fly from there. We checked in at Albion Hotel and went for a stroll along South Beach which was very close. I was never that keen on Art Deco but Federika loved it so it was a real treat for her to see so many buildings in that style.
We did a boat tour of all the mansions owned by rich and famous people which was good but there was a feeling that we were encroaching on people’s privacy and our guide told us that Shakira had to move from there because she got tired of boats pulling up to her house every day.
A tour of Little Havana was more to my taste and included a shop where they showed us cigars being made. It was strange that I had always hated cigarette smoke but for many years I had a recurring dream of me smoking a big cigar. I wonder what Mr Freud would think of that.
Now we come to the end of our Disneyland and Costa Rica 2012 and it is time for me to say “adios” until next time.
