2012 Costa Rica – San Jose
28th January 2010
We said a sad farewell to the coast and headed back to San Jose for another day before our flight to Miami. We spent the day in town and visited the gold museum which displayed all the jewellery excavated in Costa Rica over the last few hundred years. Many of the exhibits went back to 600 AD and I assume were extremely valuable as there was a huge bank vault kind of door we had to pass through to enter the room where they were kept.
Our two weeks in Costa Rica were amazing with perfect weather for most of the time, clear skies, and temperatures around 30 degrees. The people were warm and friendly and I am not surprised that pura vida (pure life) is a big thing there. I saw one man wearing a tee shirt with twenty faces on it, each one had the title of the face beneath it. There was sad, angry, sleepy, irritated etc but all the faces were the same, they were smiling.
