2010 Italy – Ravena
Our next stop was Ravenna, which took me by surprise. Federika told me it was famous for its mosaics but I had no idea just how extraordinary mosaics could be. Being mosaics, there was no fading so despite being hundreds of years old, they still looked like new. I liked Ravenna and found it a welcome change after the busy cities we had visited.
